The Jar

Son of God, raised by a carpenter
Went about doing good, rejected and betrayed
Slapped, spat on, mocked, beaten and wounded
Sentenced and crucified with criminals
He was the jar that reconciled man back to God.

The dreamer, father's favourite son
The least amongst them, hated and disliked
Thrown into the pit, sold and forgotten
He became a slave in a strange land
He was the jar who saved a Nation from famine.

The Shepherd boy, friends with the sheep
They looked at his stature and his background
He was not desirable to behold
He looked like a weakling
He was the jar who killed a giant with a sling.

Son of man, moulded by the Great Potter
He breathed His whole existence into you
Beautiful and wonderfully made
You were in His mind before your Mama met you
Created by purpose, you are not a mistake.
