I recently received a message that left me deep in thought. It made me wonder—why would someone, instead of expressing gratitude for kindness shown to them, choose to guilt-trip the giver? I don’t know what was going through the giver’s mind. Were they hurt but trying not to show it? Did they brush it off, or did it linger in their heart? I can’t say for sure, but in that moment, these verses spoke deeply to me:
Psalm 119:121-122 (TPT)
“Don’t leave me to the mercies of those who hate me, for I live to do what is just and fair. Let me hear your promise of blessing over my life, breaking me free from the proud oppressors.”
Have you ever felt like doing the right thing still led to opposition? The psalmist reminds us that even when we strive to live justly, challenges will come. But our confidence is not in people—it is in God’s justice.
When we face ungratefulness, manipulation, or opposition, we can cry out to the One who never fails us. He does not leave us at the mercy of others. Instead, He speaks blessings over our lives—words of favour, freedom, and deliverance.
Are there areas in your life where you feel surrounded by opposition? Keep doing good, even when it goes unnoticed or unappreciated. God sees, and He will reward you in His perfect time. Stay faithful, for in due season, you will reap a harvest if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
