I had a dream few days ago. Lots of people, including myself, were waiting at the bus stop. An empty bus stopped to pick passengers and a lot of people rushed to get in. It was so chaotic that some passengers were seriously injured. I said to myself that I was not joining in the madness, and I didn’t make an attempt to board but found myself giving first aid to those that were injured in the process.
This dream is filled with many interpretations but the scripture that was pressed in my spirit when I awoke was Matthew 16:26, “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but forfeits his soul?
Take a moment to observe your surroundings. Have you noticed a growing emphasis on monetization, followership, and engagement? People of all ages—both men and women—are increasingly eager to climb the ladder of success. In their pursuit of fame, popularity, and wealth, many seem willing to overlook the consequences of their actions, often disregarding how it might affect others.
Satan tempted Jesus with the allure of worldly beauty and pleasures, hoping to sway Him. Similarly, the enemy uses this tactic today to distract many from what truly matters. Many Christians now find little time for personal study, relying only on Sunday sermons and prophecies. Even praise and worship leaders often prioritize energizing the congregation over seeking God’s presence. This desire for fame and recognition can lead us away from our true source of strength. It’s a poignant reminder that heaven grieves for souls drifting away.
This dream serves as a wake-up call: evaluate your relationship with God. Are you pursuing success at any cost? Reflect on whether you’re truly in right standing with Him. Is there still oil in your lamp? Take a moment to consider your priorities and connection with the divine.
